New contributors would come to a project out of interest, but they will stick if the community is welcoming, they feel time worth spent in the project community. It is a very high bar to meet.

• Code of conduct that sets expectations for behavior

• Quick and kind response to issues and pull requests goes long way

• Recognize and thank contributors for their work

• Host regular community calls or forums for discussion
